Day 41 Sunday 4th Noosa North, Luscious Lunches, Gorgeous Ginger, Magnificent Macadamias and Superb Sunsets

We started the day with a walk and coffee at the nearby Noosa North Marina. Being a Sunday there just happened to be a market on. Lucky for Pat and myself! We enjoyed the coffee and markets and both made a few purchases. From here we drove for about 30 minutes to Yandina, to a very well-known and award winning restaurant called the Spirit House. The food here is contemporary Asian and was absolutely brilliant. The actual restaurant was set in a lush tropical gardens, with tranquil ponds, fountains all around. We all enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal before heading to the nearby Ginger Factory, a lovely spot for families to enjoy the many “ginger” based activities. With rides, tours, beautiful gardens, outdoor dining and shops, there was plenty for us to explore. From here we walked across the road to visit Nutworks, a retail outlook that celebrates the macadamia nut. We may have purchased a few things here too! We returned to the Noosa North Marina in the afternoon as we had booked a sunset cruise. The cruise took us down the Noosa River to Lake Cooroibah. It was a lovely peaceful trip down the river. We past a private island called Makepeace Island. It is believed the island is owned by Richard Branson and has luxury accommodation which you can stay at exclusively (you and up to 20 odd friends) if you can afford it. I “googled” the cost and saw that for one night it would cost nearly $20,000. I little too much for me. By the time we arrived at Lake Cooroibah the sun was starting to set. Our captain (who does these sunset cruises regularly) said this was one of the best he had seen over the lake and asked his off-sider to take photos so I think we were pretty lucky. Beautiful hues of pinks, yellows, reds lit the sky, ever changing as the sun set. There were clouds so this made the sunset even more spectacular. This was a perfect finish to a wonderful day.
