As we again had a very short journey to our next destination, after leaving Hastings Point, we decided to spend an hour or so whale watching. We returned to watch the surfers at Cabarita Beach and then climbed the headland nearby to sit and watch for whales. The whales seemed to be a little shy today. They were along way out to sea and weren’t as active as yesterday but there certainly were many out there. We continued our journey to the small settlement of Advancetown which is just inland from the very busy Gold Coast. Our park although small, is immaculate, peaceful and located on the top of a small mountain. It is very close to the large Hinze Dam so after settling in, Rob dropped me off at the dam so I could kayak and he visited a nearby par 3 golf course. Rob played 9 holes of golf around a great course while I kayak on the dam. We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Rob was very impressed with the golf club and we returned later in the evening to the club, for a lovely dinner.
