Day 24 Thursday 18th Brunswick Heads, Wonderful Waterside Again

Last night, we decided to go out for dinner in Grafton. We booked a table at a beautiful old pub, The Crown located on the banks of the Clarence River. We had a fabulous night and the pub was pumping. Not only was it the final game of the State of Origin for the rugby, it was also in the middle of the race week for Grafton so there were many people in the hotel enjoying themselves.  We had a table out on a beautiful enclosed deck, with heaters and rugs provided so no one was cold. Of course during the day the deck had a beautiful view of the river but not at night. Instead we had lovely fairy lights decorating the area. Our meals were delicious and we left the busy pub very satisfied. Today we drove the short distance from Grafton to Brunswick Heads, stopping in at the small historical port town of Wardell on the Richmond River for coffee and a good sausage roll according to the expert, before arriving at our park. This park is very nice having lovely new modern facilities, grassy sites and is located right on the river. We ventured into the main part of town, enjoying the views of the rivers and the sea. The town has a very relaxed, casual, feel. There are many young people, surfing and living simply and also “high-end” older hippies who own some of the galleries and shops. There are many cafes, clothes shops, eateries etc. We called into the Information Centre and have plenty of ideas of things we could do for the next couple of day.
