Apparently we had 25ml rain on Monday, when we arrived and 85ml of rain yesterday. The good news was, we woke to no rain and some blue sky this morning so we spent a little time drying things out and cleaning. We decided to head out and try to at least complete some exercise for the day. We drove to a nearby area called Mt Scoria Recreation Park. I think the word mountain may have been a stretch, more like molehill but it did rise above the plains of grazing lands. Anyway, we enjoyed a walk around the base of Mt Scoria, another volcanic plug. The actual mountain was covered with rocky volcanic rocks and small trees. We could see a few of the basalt columns through the vegetation. Following this small excursion we visited Biloela to shop and have lunch (at the famous bakery of course). The weather was still favourable so we headed out to the Biloela Golf Club. Unfortunately, once we arrived we were greeted by a sign to say the course was closed. We knew that the unprecedented rain would have caused this. Instead, Rob dropped me off at the cemetery for a quick visit as the cemetery really didn’t contain any interesting history. Returning to the van we continued on with other jobs and prepared the van ready for our drive tomorrow.
